Publix is able to offer virtual employment for this position in the following states: GA, AL, TN, SC, NC, VA Principal Automation Engineer responsibilities involve defining, developing, maintaining and advising on the use of the Publix information technology architecture through effective and efficient automation. The Publix Automation team is responsible for driving the adoption of the automation first mindset. This is related to process automation, infrastructure automation to include initial provisioning and day two activities, as well as automated deployment of code and/or applications.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 6 years of experience with enterprise Data Centers
Minimum of 6 years of experience with provisioning tools (Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Salt)
Minimum of 5 years of experience with VMWare
Minimum of 4 years of experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Packer, Vagrant)
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Azure cloud
Experience leading and evangelizing large-scale projects, and in the design, planning, and implementation of complex systems
Experience in security areas including: PCI, HIPPA, compliance standards, regulations, and security remediation.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Experience with DevOps tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Nexus, Artifactory)
