The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the general accounting of warranty programs. This primarily includes regular monthly financial close activities such as reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations, providing explanations for Income Statement and Balance Sheet Analytics, and participating in various Finance projects and testing of system conversions.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop team of up to 4 Accountants/Sr. Accountants. (20%)

  • Review and Approve monthly standard journal entries to reflect business for warranty programs on a timely basis ensuring adequate support and signatures. (20%)

  • Review and Approve team’s assigned account reconciliations on a timely basis ensuring account reconciling items are resolved on a timely basis. (20%)

  • Collaboration and timely follow-up with various departments regarding required information to research/ resolve outstanding issues. (15%)

  • Participate in ongoing UAT efforts for client conversions and various ad hoc projects. (10%).

  • Assist in other tasks as assigned such as provide information for audit requests and to financial analysts to answer ad hoc questions on financial results. (10%)

  • Review and approval of wire transfers, check requests as needed to support business operations with appropriate approvals. (5%)

Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Minimum 5 years of strong accounting and analysis experience

  • Minimum 3 years of Leadership/Management experience

  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, detailed oriented

  • Strong technical accounting/problem solving skills and attention to accuracy

  • Strong ability to be well organized while managing multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA

  • PeopleSoft or Oracle experience

  • Experience in Public Accounting and/or Insurance, Financial Services Industry
