Duties and Responsibilities This is a highly responsible professional position with lead responsibility for National Initiative to Address COVID-19 Health Disparities Among Populations at High-Risk and Underserved, Including Racial and Ethnic Minorities and Rural Communities intervention activities in an assigned area of the state. The primary responsibilities of this position include providing or coordinating technical assistance to county health departments (CHD’s), management of technical assistance and consultation regarding community planning, treatment and care and prevention specifically as it relates to minority needs and activities. This position is assigned to and stationed at the Department of Health in Broward County and travels throughout the assigned region (Broward, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties) Review health equity work plans and budget proposals within the assigned region, provide feedback and technical assistance for approval. Coordinate with Bureau of Tobacco Free Florida (BTFF) and the Office of Minority Health and Health Equity to facilitate the provision of peer to peer support to Health Equity (HE) Liaisons within the assigned region. Assign mentor as needed and proved platforms for the open exchange of ideas. Provide technical assistance and support to CHDs in the assigned region to update county COVID-19 plans and health equity plans to support communities at most risk of COVID-19 with the intention of establishing systems that can also support future emergency response. Assist with building cross-sectional partnerships to align public health, healthcare and non-health (e.g., housing, social service) interventions that decrease risk for COVID-19. Identify and establish collaborations with critical regional and state partners affiliated with and who provide services to populations that are underserved and at higher risk for COVID-19 to disseminate accurate, culturally and linguistically responsive information and facilitate access to health-related services. Assess technical assistance and training needs of CHD Health Equity Liaisons and other community partners to improve their capacity for addressing social determinants of health. Coordinate activities with the BTFF COVID Health Disparities Program Manager and with other Regional Health Equity Coordinators statewide. Engage regional community planning partnerships, health councils and consortia as DOH contact on regional health equity planning initiatives. Maintain good working relationships with community partners. Attend meetings within the region and assigned counties. Supports multi-county activities and outreach to increase access to COVID-19 prevention, testing and vaccination. Minimum Qualifications: Valid Drive License and access to a reliable vehicle to drive to multiple sites as determined by program needs.

Master Degree in Public Health from an accredited college or university.

Experience in writing, updating and reporting on Community Health Plans

Experience serving on Community Coalitions

Preferred Qualification

Experience leading community coalitions

Experience in working in programs to promote Health Equity
