ILS is looking for a dedicated MS SQL Server DBA/System Administrator to support one of our federal projects in the Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities:
  • Supports business management with database access, optimum resource configuration, cost analysis, and database performance.
  • Lead in the planning, designing, creating, installing, customization, upgrades, and maintaining of databases to meet defined requirements.
  • Installation, configuration, monitoring, space management, database backup and recovery, and may design disaster recovery procedures.
  • Create, maintain, and administer procedures for the establishment, maintenance, and removal of accounts and role-based security for the customer’s various databases, Table, and index partition.
  • Monitor progress of projects by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports, and recommending actions.
  • Develop and enforce Client database operational standards, guidelines, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Provide basic Linux support including but not limited to maintenance of crontab files and creation of shell scripts.
  • Provide COOP support for multiple MS SQL Server/Oracle databases and instances or partitions.
  • Add new systems to the COOP environment as needed and shall provide support for those systems.
  • Provide Development and Testing team support - provide support to development and testing teams. Support includes but is not limited to problem resolution, data/database changes, and application deployments into the UAT, Production, and COOP environments.
  • Strong fundamentals in all aspects of DBA responsibilities.

Qualifications:
  • At least 8-10 years of experience leading/hands-on operational, deployment, and development database experience.
  • Proven SQL Server/Oracle Databases Administration experience.
  • Understand how to develop mechanisms for data access and management across heterogeneous networks and platforms.
  • Experience of managing multiple RDBMS on large systems with Oracle Real Application clusters, Data Guard, streams and database partitioning and advanced compression, Real application testing.
  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and above and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
  • Experience working with JBoss, Tomcat, WebSphere, and WebLogic.
  • Experience with Oracle 12c and 19c are required.
  • Experience with data administration, data modeling, and relational database design.
  • Experience with Information engineering (various stages of the system life cycle).
  • Hands-on experience working with network protocols, hardware, and application packages.
  • Proven experience with multiple operating systems: Linux, Windows, Oracle Database Applications (ODA), and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Hands-on experience with database performance monitoring, tuning, upgrade, troubleshooting, and implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge of patches upgrade and patches release.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows Server and Windows Server Administration.
  • Experience with CASE tool physical database design.
  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications are a plus
  • Talend or Collibra tool experience is a plus.

While the client location is in Washington DC, the position allows for 100% remote support at this time.
