Role: TypeScript/Python Developer

Duration: 6-12 Months

Location Washington DC The Python extension for Visual Studio Code team is a small team responsible for the Python developer experience in VS Code. We are looking for someone to help us maintain the extension, implement new features, as well as help with a restructuring of the overall structure of the extension.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience programming and unit testing in TypeScript focusing on Server-side/node.js development
• Knowledge of Python software development lifecycle (environments, testing, package management, etc) a strong plus

• Preferred Qualifications:
• VS Code Extension experience is a big plus
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and efficiently collaborate with partners to deliver outstanding results
• Experience in writing application-oriented TypeScript code
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong empathy for customers and persistent drive to learn from them
• Willingness to deep dive in technology and the ability to zoom out to frame the big picture
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
