Leidos Enterprise & Cyber Solutions Defense Team has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Web Systems Engineer.

The Army Corps of Engineers - Information Technology (ACE-IT) provides secure enterprise-wide IT and information management support services to more than 40,000 USACE end users located throughout the Continental U.S. (CONUS) and outside the Continental U.S. (OCONUS). ACE-IT is the enterprise IT service delivery team for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, supporting mission requirements using a site-specific support model aligned along the USACE Regional Business Centers. ACE-IT provides direct on-site command and control, coordination, planning, and operations and maintenance support for routine and emergency IT services.

Location: Vicksburg MS, Hillsboro, OR or any other USACE locations as negotiated, with potential for telework.

In this role, you will provide expert level design solutions for the current Web application hosting services: The enterprise web team currently manages hosting for many different web technologies. This includes installation and configuration of Microsoft IIS (Internet Information Services) to host custom .NET, PHP, and other various applications/application frameworks for USACE Corporate systems within ACE-IT taking into account availability, scalability, security and manageability as appropriate. You will also perform web hosting support services on a broad range of programs providing overall support for various business-critical networks. Some tasks involve the full system engineering life-cycle including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, test, and implementation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Web Services team member handles break/fix issues, projects, proactive with general management upkeep, and provides backup manager support.
  • KEY SKILL: Installs and configures Microsoft IIS to host custom .NET, PHP, and other various applications/application frameworks on secure websites.
  • KEY SKILL: Perform security audits from a web/IIS perspective
  • KEY SKILL: Manages Windows Apache systems; supports through the service life cycle including maintain and patch
  • Develops web services system analysis and design documents for ACE-IT corporate architecture, specific projects, performs assessment of business process and design artifacts provided by project, program or service support staff. This includes integration support such as SharePoint services, etc.
  • Provides recommendations on web services features to enable and how to use them.
  • Manages ColdFusion farms (production and staging), and several (20+) instances of ColdFusion; supports through the service life cycle, including maintain and patch
  • Provides Tier II support to Operations in support of the Web Services.
  • Responds to incident tickets associated with Web Services.
  • Responds to service request (work order) tickets associated with Web Services.
  • Responds to problem (architecture and design level) tickets associated with Web Services.
  • Submits and supports change requests tickets associated with Web Services.
  • Works with the other departments in designing, staging configuration, implementation and support as applicable.
  • Participates in a weekly on-call rotation.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours or modified schedule for planned or emergency work.

Required Experience:
  • KEY SKILL: Web services systems design, engineering, operations and maintenance
  • KEY SKILL: Installation and configuration of Microsoft IIS to host custom .NET, PHP, and other various applications/application frameworks
  • Experience with ColdFusion and Windows Apache systems
  • Excellent communications abilities, well-developed organizational skills, and a strong understanding of how the Web is used as a communication and collaboration tool.
  • Proficient in Web design software, with a working knowledge of ASP.NET, xml and html as well as strong facilitation, research collection, and analysis skills
  • Experience with scripting and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Visual Basic, SQL, graphic design software, or other Web and databases development tools/languages
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques and to formulate procedures
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct programs and activities to support operational mission
  • Experience with large enterprise web and collaboration systems

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline with 6+ years of overall related systems administration experience. Additional training and/or years of related experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • KEY QUAL: Must hold current IAT II 8570 Security + CE certification or higher.
  • KEY QUAL: Must hold active DOD Secret Clearance.
