Job Description:Leidos currently has an exciting career opportunity for JAVA Software Developers in the D.C. area. If you are a qualified Software Developer and are interested in challenging new environment with opportunity for growth, we would like to meet with you.POSITION SUMMARY: Leidos is looking for Software Developer with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems in support of DHS Citizenship and Immigration Services. The Leidos team will be part of an exciting ecosystem, participating with federal employees, and other contractors, in a team-based DevOps approach to deliver mission value frequently, cost-effectively, responsively, and with high quality. In this hands on position, you will work collaboratively with other companies to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines and other resource constraints. You will participate in and/or direct major deliverables of projects through all aspects of the software development lifecycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding and unit testing.Qualifications:- Understanding of software processes and methodologies and ability to speak intelligently about them
- Proficiency using Java/C Knowledge of software design patterns.
- Experience with a version control system (e.g., Git)
- Experience with an issue/problem tracking system (e.g., Jira)
- Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint).
- Proficiency with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices
- Proficiency with Agile management tools such as the Atlassian suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 75% of their contribution to development efforts (design, develop, test, deploy) in their current and previous experience
- Minimum 3 years of hands on experience with the following: Angular, Spring / Spring Boot, Java, Hibernate, JPA, Mongo or Postgres, Jetty, Microservices, OpenShift, Gradle, Maven, Ant, Junit, Bitbucket, Cucumber, SonarQube, CI/CD pipeline, Jenkins, git, Cloudwatch, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse
- Expertise with DevOps frameworks
- Knowledge of software design patterns.
- U.S. Citizen
- Must have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance, at minimum
- BS and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- AWS expertise/certs
- 508 experience/expertise
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
- Experience supporting Agile projects for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
