Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN)
District of Columbia, Washington, 20001 Washington USASummary This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the IT Technical Support Division. As an Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN), you will be provide hardware, software, and infrastructure support for IT systems operated under the auspice of the CIO Directorate, and oversee support units at both the Washington, DC, and Fort Worth, TX (WCF) plants. Responsibilities As an Information Technology Specialist (SYSADMIN), you will: Serve as Subject Matter Expert for new enterprise wide infrastructure deployments in the Microsoft Windows infrastructure including Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), Physical and Virtual Servers, HyperVisors, networking, data management (backup/restore) and Storage Area Networks. Design and develop prototypes, evaluate new infrastructure systems, and plans and develop the deployment approach for the system integration, operation, and management of large scale implementations of high-level and/or wide-spread systems that constitute new enterprise-class systems. Coordinate and perform the design and implementation of new IT systems and expansions or modifications to existing systems, including the implementation of various system configurations. Work closely with the project management team and track the status of IT system design projects through the planning, development, modification, maintenance, and evaluation phases of the project. Ensure proper configuration and operation of component systems and the overall IT architecture. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Assisting with the planning, design, and development of new IT systems; AND Managing projects related to IT equipment and systems; AND Researching and analyzing methods and procedures and making recommendations to incorporate new IT systems. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1.
