We are seeking a talented Software Engineer who is passionate about building software to join its software engineering team in Washington, DC. We think technology gives us a real edge in our business, and wed like you to work on what we think is the next big thing. We are passionate about software, data, and analytics and we are looking for help expanding our next-generation data infrastructure platform. Our team collaborates closely with traders and analysts to build better processes that directly aid in trading decisions. This is a unique role on a small team where you'll have a lot of ownership and responsibilities over the solutions developed. An ideal candidate will be productive in a fast-paced environment and excited to collaborate every day to build well designed and reliable software.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you'll be one of the users of the system and responsible for keeping tabs on our trading system. Using the insight you get from this you'll see how the platform can be extended and improved. We are looking for people who want to work on the full stack and are interested in understanding the business in addition to tackling interesting technology challenges.

Responsibilities and duties:

" Work closely with our software engineers team to develop tools in Python or Java

" Exposure to deep technical problems, production trading systems, quantitative analysis, and how markets work

" Design, build and maintain highly available and resilient software that will be deployed in the data platform

" Develop Python analytics that brings simplicity to complicated market data

" Acquire and process large amounts of data using Python

" Design databases to import data that can later be processed using analytics

" Help improve our custom user interface helping traders dive into the data

" Full-stack development from backend to user interfaces

What You Need for this Position

QUALIFICATIONS-Passion for developing software, learning technologies, and advanced software design principles

-Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills

-Programming experience in Python

-Experience using React.js

-Knowledge about SQL, database design, and database servers

-Basic ETL Experience

-Scripting Experience with Python

-Familiarity with Git workflow and basic Unix commands.

-Knowledge of statistics, applied math, or analytical problem solving is a plus

-Entrepreneurial nature and an eagerness to learn
