Title: Corporate Communications & Public Policy - Communications Manager VStart/End Dates: 6/7/2021 - 3/6/2022Location: Washington, DCDescription:Role: Policy Programs ManagerClient is looking for a Policy Programs Manager to coordinate and build partnerships and policy programs that demonstrate the value of Client platform to policymakers and other audiences in the US. In this role, you will be an essential contributor to highly important programs on some of the most complex and emerging global policy tech, social and economic issues.This includes programs across a range of content and product areas such as public health including COVID and the opioid crisis, small business, education and workforce development, media literacy and misinformation, privacy, safety, and others. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, get-things-done professional who can function independently in a fast-moving environment, and rapidly earn credibility and trust with all levels of the organization. They are adept at understanding complex policy and reputation challenges and passionate about the mission of Client . They are an expert communicator who is a true diplomat, deftly managing relationships both inside and outside of the company.ResponsibilitiesAdvance Client public policy priorities within the broad U.S. public policy community including policymakers, think tanks, advocates, non-profits, and the policy press ; Work with teams across the company to ensure that programs are improving external understanding around key policy issues and the company's positive social and economic impact ; Coordinate programs cross-functionally with internal teams ; Develop and manage various US policy programs ; Build and manage partnerships and relationships with external stakeholders ; Represent Client to external policy stakeholders at events, conferences, coalition meetings, and in various working groups ; Help set up and prepare Client executives for meetings and public appearances involving third-party policy groups and community organizations ; Organize external eventsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or related experience.6+ years of experience in or with Congress, policy advocacy organizations, or government.Experience with the federal or state policy making process.Experience with the public policy community, including think tanks, academics, policy advocates/activists, trade associations, and other NGOs.Experience in drafting communications for public policy audiences.Type of Leave - Maternity leaveName of employee going on leave- Liza Heyman Estimated leave length- 7 months, starting July 10th but needs to hire someone June time to allow training and passover of projects
