Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and promoting oral health through preventative measures. As a vital member of our dental team, you will work closely with dentists and patients to ensure a comfortable and effective dental experience. Duties - Perform thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess oral health. - Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of regular dental visits. - Take medical histories and record vital signs to ensure comprehensive patient care. - Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe working environment. - Assist in the administration of local anesthesia when required. - Document patient information accurately in Dentrix software, including treatment plans and progress notes. - Collaborate with the dental team to provide four-handed dentistry during procedures. - Conduct medical imaging as needed, including X-rays, to assist in diagnosis. - Stay updated on dental terminology and advancements in the field to enhance patient education. Skills - Proficient in using Dentrix software for patient management. - Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols. - Knowledge of human anatomy relevant to oral health. - Experience with four-handed dentistry practices. - Familiarity with dental office operations and procedures. - Ability to communicate effectively with patients about dental terminology and care instructions. - Commitment to providing exceptional patient care with a focus on comfort and education. - Experience in dental assisting is a plus, enhancing collaboration within the team. - Competence in taking vital signs as part of patient assessments.
