Delivery Associates strive to get every order to the customer’s door on-time. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are inspired and motivated to work smart and work hard in a team environment. As a delivery driver, you will be the face of our company. It will be your job to consistently exceed customer expectations by making sure all orders are delivered with a smile, on time, safely, and to the right location.Currently, we are looking to fill driving positions in Wallingford, CT.Delivery Driver Requirements:We provide on-the-job training so that all of our employees feel confident on the road and the doorsteps of customers. Health and safety are always a top priority for our organization and our extended customers. In partnership with our primary client we continue to consult with medical and health experts, and take all recommended precautions to keep everyone healthy. We have incredibly supportive support staff and IT systems which are made available to aid our drivers daily; all the tools needed for success are provided: Van, navigation & delivery devices, a fuel card. Our New devices, technology, and delivery van establish you in a fresh and unique work environment.Hours:Usual hours of operation areSunday-Saturday, 10:30 am – 7pm, with Delivery Associates Required to Staff and Support a “4-3 Schedule” which means our driversMUST work 4-Days on & 3 Days off(non-negotiable). Shifts can vary between8-10 hours per day.Be CUSTOMER OBSESSED We strive to deliver packages and excellence to our customers.Be 21 years or olderwith the ability to read and speak English for safetyHave a valid driver's license(a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is not required)Authorized to work in the United StatesMust pass a 5-Panel Drug Screening(prescription marijuana usage is not acceptable per DOT regulations)Must pass a criminal background check; up to 7 years in scope.A motor vehicle record (MVR) search will have a scope of 3 years. The 3 years is calculated using the incident date, from the date of the MVR background check. There are certain violations that may be subject to an extended scope of 5 years.Successful applicants will be required to pass a motor vehicle history review.Be able to operate and navigate a delivery van, weighing 10,000 lbs. or less (you do not need to provide your own vehicle)Must have good Englishspeaking, reading, writing/communication skillsAbility to lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts around 10 hoursUse smartphone device for GPS Navigation, scanning packages, conducting administrative requirements such as clocking in/out, and communicate with supervisors and other team membersSuccessfully handle and deliver packages on timeSafely drive and perform safety inspections on company vehicle; follow all local & state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policiesProvide excellent customer service and satisfaction despite stressful events/conditionsLoad and unload packages in the delivery vehicleKeep pace in physically demanding job; work in all weather conditions; lift packages; get in and out of a van repeatedly throughout the day at variable locationsSupport the team in daily work requirements including participation in rescue calls when other team members need assistance with their routesAbility to lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 50 pounds each (most packages will be under 15 pounds), with or without reasonable accommodationCapable of entering and exiting a commercial van.Capable of moving up and downstairsNavigate a variety of routes throughout the delivery area.Communicate effectively with the support team to provide exceptional customer service and ensure deliveries are completedComplete Paid DOT Commercial Motor Vehicle Training (CMV)Compensation and Benefits include:Starting pay is $15/hr (up to $17/hr for very experienced commercial driving candidates)Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits (eligible after 30 days) – (Full-Time Drivers Only)Paid TrainingAccrued Paid Time OffPaid OvertimeIncentive BonusesEquipment Provided:Delivery Vehicle & GasHandheld technologyUniformsOther safety and administrative gear necessary for job accomplishmentCompany DescriptionSpelman Logistics LLC is a Connecticut based logistics and delivery business that strives to create a dependable, reliable, and safe work environment.
