Summary:

Voya needs a Senior Full Stack Software Developer. We need someone who has the drive to build great software and bring fabulous digital experience to our customers. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in not only the latest Java and JavaScript frameworks but also Cloud technologies as well. Senior Full Stack Software Developers must be capable of practically applying existing, new, and emerging technologies to new and evolving business and operating models. Conversely, they must be able to understand and operationalize new technologies. The individual in this role develops work that is valuable to the business, including business capabilities, business requirements, and workflow.

Work location is flexible and remote work is possible for the right candidate

Duties and Responsibilities:

Our ideal candidate will work closely within a close-knit, friendly digital team and will
  • Enthusiastically working in a collaborative setting with existing team members
  • Enjoy solving problems and understand good software development practices
  • Have in-depth analytical skills
  • Work with QA team, product owners, Scrum Master and Story Authors to understand and define requirements.
  • Craft and build new software tools and systems on the Azure and Private Cloud
  • Outstanding knowledge of software development and system engineering practices will be required
  • Perform comprehensive TDD, integration and scale testing of all software produced
  • Work to integrate new technologies and systems into existing infrastructure
  • Ad-hoc analysis of problematic datasets to help resolve issues encountered by users
  • Participate in group design and code reviews

Experience and Qualifications:
  • MS or equivalent in Computer Science is preferred
  • 4 or more years of experience building feature-rich customer facing applications
  • 3 or more years of experience building feature-rich customer facing web applications
  • Any experience with building applications in Azure is desirable (Google Cloud Platform or AWS experience would be cool as well)
  • Practical experience with Java, OOP and Design Patterns
  • Experience with Spring Security and Oauth2
  • Experience with Cloud, Cloud Foundry, Docker and Containers
  • Senior level knowledge of many of our front end technologies including: Angular2, JavaScript, Polymer, HTML, and CSS
  • Hybrid Mobile development (ionic framework) experience is a plus
  • Experience with XML and REST/JSON technologies
  • Hands on experience with Azure DB, Oracle databases, DB2, JDBC and SQL Server
  • Hands on experience with Junit and other TDD tools
  • In depth analytical skills using enterprise monitoring technologies
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around such issues
  • Good understanding of SCRUM/agile methodology
  • Superb communication skills
  • Financial Services Industry experience is a plus
