The Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?You will work as part of a highly collaborative sales team, closing aligning with sales, marketing, and product management teams to demonstrate product capability, instill product confidence, and effectively communicate the power of VMware Carbon Black solutions. You will deliver product demonstrations to remote prospective clients as a means to illustrate how VMware Carbon Black’s solutions provide direct value to their business and technical requirements.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?Within the first 6-8 months within the role you will work on proficiency in demonstrating VMware Carbon Black’s products through presentations and product demos

Within 8-12 months of the role, you will begin training for hands-on evaluations

This training will include on the job training, collaboration in shadowing your colleagues’ evaluations, as well as weekly sessions around product knowledge and project management

Within 12+ months of the role, you will have the opportunity to independently lead prospects through the technical evaluation process

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?You will have the hands-on opportunity to lead prospects through the pre-sale evaluation process of VMware Carbon Black product platform

Throughout the evaluation process, you will work to build and maintain prospect relationship

Working hand in hand with your sales counterparts, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and successful transition (externally and internally) from sales process to service delivery

After gaining experience of the evaluation process, you will have the opportunity to assist in developing and evolving the standard methodologies for Sales Engineering activities

You will provide input to Product Management, based on customer / prospect feedback gained throughout your evaluation projects

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?This role will report up to Chuck Leach, Commercial Solution Engineering Manager. Chuck came to the VMware family as part of the acquisition of Carbon Black in 2019. He began his time with Carbon Black in 2016, moving through the Sales Engineering organization to eventually sit at its helm. Chuck leads his team with transparency, and encouragement of new ideas and leadership.The team is segmented across two tiers; Commercial 1 and Commercial 2, which is based on company VMware spend. Within each tier, we have Solution Engineers sitting across the US with two primary Carbon Black offices in MA and CO. Our team operates with the mentality of celebrating the dedication and hard work of bringing customers into VMware Carbon Black.Where is this role located?This role is fully remote and can be done anywhere in the United States. Options for in-person are available if candidate is near an office location, but is not required.What are the minimum requirements?Completing Bachelor’s degree in Winter 2021 or Spring 2022
