Cigna's Operations Leadership Development Program (OLDP) is a rotational development program that provides early-career candidates the opportunity to be directly involved with the ongoing operations of a dynamic health care industry leader. OLDP Associates complete rotations that provide cross-functional exposure to operations within different business units in order to develop high potential individuals ready to take on roles with increasing scope and responsibility within the company.A great way to experience the field of Operations Management and assess the OLDP is through our 10-week, paid summer internship offering students a realistic experience of what it’s like to work in Operations at Cigna. Our interns are treated as if they are full-time program associates and this opportunity acts as a potential catalyst to full-time employment within the OLDP.What you’ll do:Cigna's 10-week summer internship program is designed to further develop your skills and give you experience working in a dynamic, flexible work environment. The OLDP Internship offers:“Real work”: Over the course of the summer, you will be assigned a project that challenges your strategic thinking, business acumen and leadership skills all while building industry knowledge.

Managing project plans from intake to completion phases for new initiatives by: identifying project requirements and creating plans to meet target dates, assigning task ownership and delivery dates, and monitoring progress while anticipating and eliminating barriers.

Evaluating current operational procedures and producing data driven recommendations to improve efficiency, quality and customer experience

Developing metrics, scorecards and dashboards that provide key insights and analytics into the impact of operational process improvements

Leveraging design thinking methodologies to understand the voice of customer and drive innovative solutions

Working independently or on a team to influence others to achieve goals.

Community: Opportunities to meet other interns and participate in community service events, helping to build relationships with our cross functional partners, team members and other interns.

Leader Speaker Series: You and your fellow interns will be exposed to a variety of sessions and presentations given by members of the Cigna community.

What you need to do the job:Ideal candidates will be progressing toward a bachelor’s degree, and have completed 3 years in desired majors including; Business, Healthcare, Operations Management, Finance or a business related field by start of internship program

3.0 or higher GPA is preferred

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills

Previous business-related, or customer service work or internship experience

Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to drive results

Strong attention to detail

Ability to effectively deal with ambiguity

Customer-centric mindset

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information:Location : This summer internship is located in person in Bloomfield, CT. The internship is paid, and summer housing will be provided for interns living 50 miles or more away the office.

Work Authorization : One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 10 consecutive weeks beginning in May of 2023.

Market Range: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $22 an hour depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
