Maxar is currently seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our operations team in Westminster, CO.

Our team balances fast paced real-time operations support and deep system analysis to determine ways to reduce system complexity and improve efficiency. Our team brings creative engineering solutions to operations problems and focuses on optimizing existing systems and reducing work through automation. We enable our development teams through robust CI/CD tools and practices enabling automated deployments. In all our work, we strive to deliver the highest quality operational systems resulting in robust reliable mosaic product production and delivery.

Your responsibilities:
  • Engage in the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design, through deployment, operations, and refinement
  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
  • Scale systems sustainably, and evolve services by identifying changes that improve reliability, cost, and performance
  • Develop resilient operational services that provide key functionality for operations
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
  • Participate in the Agile software development process
  • Provide timely support to our 24x7 operations teams including on-call support
  • Natural curiosity and ability to continually learn about our evolving complex ground system

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be U.S. Citizen and be willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, physics, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in DevOps, software development, or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Development experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, Python, Ruby, C, Go
  • Development experience with one or more web framework: Angular, Node.js, React
  • Experience supporting software running in a Linux OS

Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
  • Ability to troubleshoot operational issues across multiple complex systems and propose and implement new solutions
  • Understand the fundamentals of CI/CD, container infrastructure life-cycle, software source control (Git/GitHub)
  • AWS Associate or professional certification highly desired
  • Understanding of Service Oriented and Microservice Architectures
  • Experience with log aggregation tools like Elastic Stack
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Understanding of software design, development and troubleshooting

The compensation range for this position is $108,000 to $180,000 annually, dependent on skills and experience. This position is also eligible for a bonus plan.
