Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

  • Provide excellent guest service for everyone using the pool and fitness area and ensure care and safety of all guests
  • Conduct chemical testing in the pools, and ensure the appropriate levels maintained; reports any issues
  • Clean and tidy the locker rooms and workout area
  • Pick up towels, trash and dishes around the pool periodically and at the end of each shift
  • Bring issues such as equipment or fixtures in need of repair to the attention of the Supervisor or Manager
  • Monitor weather for lightning and execute pool closures when necessary
  • Ensure towels are sent for cleaning and stocked in Fitness center during shift
  • Laundry duties
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties, as assigned

Minimum skills, experience, and education required for this job:

  • Knowledge of fitness/pool/spa preferred
  • Related experience working at a pool or fitness center preferred
  • Must possess strong guest service skills
  • Adhere to all safety policies
  • Work independently
  • Previous experience working in a resort environment is preferred
  • Instruct guests on equipment usage preferred
  • Basic computer equipment and keyboard usage preferred
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with SSRC’s Service Excellence standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be minimum 18 years of age
  • Lift up to 50 lbs in order to move fitness equipment
  • Must stand for long periods of time and walk 1-2 miles/shift
  • Must fold towels (repetitive motion) and operate washers and dryers, after instructed
  • Clearly communicate clearly (verbally and written) in English

Miscellaneous information:

  • This is an hourly non-exempt position and is subject to overtime pay
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekends and holidays
  • Shifts available are 6:00am to 2:00pm or 2:00pm to 10pm
  • Pursuant to county and/or state orders and company policies, every employee is required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms, practice social distancing, wash hands frequently, wear a mask per current guidelines, self-report and call in immediately and stay home if sick and assist with sanitizing and disinfecting work areas. Employees must follow all resort mitigation plans and protocols, which can be found posted on resort buildings and on Beekeeper

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base hourly pay rate: $15.00 per hour
