Cannabis Assistant Grower also Pest Technician (Ordway, CO)

Have two positions available, both full time roles. No experience necessary. One is for an assistant cultivator and the other is for a pesticide applicator/pest management technician. There is the potential for overlap between the two roles. We are flexible with your hours so long as you have at least 35 hours a week available. We have both a greenhouse and an outdoor grow and will train you everything you need to know. Applicant must be able to work hard, be responsible, and must have a vehicle with a valid drivers license. The farm is located in Ordway, Colorado. We strive to operate in a very orderly and organized manner and are first and foremost looking for individuals who will follow instructions well and complete their assigned tasks with a high level of quality and thoroughness. We have an electronic checklist that must get filled out everyday and you will report to the lead growers and master grower all through out the day. Applicant must either have or be able to get(no felonies) a MED badge.

Assistant cultivator:

Help with the day to day operations of a newly licensed cultivation facility. We will train you to be a skilled cultivator. This position will consist of primarily working with cannabis plants, including watering, trimming, pruning, inspecting them, harvesting, mixing soil, staking, trellis netting, monitoring irrigation equipment, and topping off fertilizer batch tanks, etc. Also, Setup and fix irrigation lines, maintaining a clean property. Occasional duties will include things like pulling weeds, repairing the fence and other things that may fall into disarray, or helping setup plant bedding, tables, and giving a hand with other minor construction tasks that may come up. Other plant responsibilities that you may be tasked with is taking clones, transplanting, up-potting, topping, defoliating, performing inspections on plants, observing bugs under a microscope, and spraying pesticides. You will work under the supervision of the head growers and report to them through out the day giving frequent updates as to the state and progress of your assigned task. You will be expected to complete your assigned work in a quality manner and report to your supervisor when finished to be given your next responsibility.

Pest Management Technician:

You will be working second shift hours which will require you to spray pesticides when it is dark outside, this time changes through out the year but is typically between the hours of 4PM and 11PM. Your primary responsibility will be to apply pesticides to the plants via either spraying the plants with our high end electric sprayer system or drenching the soil with a hose and wand. Person must be in good physical condition and have good coordination to carefully walk around the plants in the dark with a green headlight while wearing a pesticide suit and full face respirator. The actual spraying shouldn’t last more than two hours each day at most but is the most crucial part of the position. You will spend time looking for pests under a microscope and examining the plants for disease pressure. Also, pruning, defoliating, and cleaning the plants to help make it harder for pests to do much damage. We will provide you with lots of training and eventually help you get a pesticide applicator license. This is a very important and crucial role and are looking for someone who can work hard and learn fast.

Details: You will be given one unpaid 30 minute lunch break and two paid ten minute breaks during the day. For any additional breaks you will be expected to clock out. That includes breaks to smoke cigarettes and make personal calls. We’re looking to get health insurance plan as well in next two quarters that will be available to you. We have a friendly atmosphere and are looking for people who want to work hard and have passion for what we do with no drama.

Our requirements:

- Own a reliable vehicle and have a current valid drivers license.

- Have no felonies that would preclude you from obtaining your badge

- Be able and willing to work 35 hours a week at a minimum.

- Be able to lift and carry 30 pounds or more

- Be in good physical shape to work long days when needed

- Pass a drug test (marijuana is ok)

- Have positive past work references (they will all be called)

- Absolutely no drinking or getting high at or before work will be tolerated!

- Be able to show up for and work the agreed upon hours with no excuses

- Work visa OK
