Detailed job description, including responsibilities, work performed, tools or equipment used, etc.:

In addition to daily security responsibilities, the successful applicant will:

  • Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision and evaluation of 6 core full time security officers, 12 part time security officers, and about 50 temporary event security staff.
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities.
  • Be proficient in the safe operation of company vehicle (trucks, shuttle buses, UTV’s, and snowmobiles) 50% of time in varying terrain and conditions
  • Be responsible for regular safety and security checks of all Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation properties
  • Respond to fire and or burglar alarms as necessary
  • Supervise the department safety program
  • Deal with guests and other individuals under varying circumstances
  • May be required to transport guests in shuttle van
  • Adhere to, comply with, and assist in the enforcement of all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
  • Other duties, as assigned (This will be necessary in the world of COVID, we are all doing jobs outside of our lanes).

Minimum skills, experience, and education required for this job:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous security experience required.
  • Must have previous employment experience of working an overnight / graveyard shift
  • Must be able to communicate clearly using the English language, and be able to read and write legible, accurate security reports
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety policies
  • Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be minimum 21 years of age
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time often in harsh weather conditions
  • Lift approximately 50 pounds on a recurring basis. (Coin, Ice melt).
  • Drive security truck, UTV’s, Shuttles, Snowmobiles
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet company insurability standards

Hourly Range:

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives and many region-specific benefits.

Steamboat area base hourly pay range: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
