Job Duties and Responsibilities: A Systems Operations Engineer is an IT professional who is responsible for the management and operations of various systems in the private and public cloud space. These professionals will be involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the Dish Wireless Platform. Day-to-day job responsibilities:- Managing the complete lifecycle of a host including: security, provisioning and automation.
- Tuning and configuration of various cloud systems.
- Managing backups and disaster recovery.
- Access control and data integrity.
- Monitoring and observability.
- Provide innovative solutions leveraging modern deployment tools/techniques and make recommendations to support a rapidly growing environment
- Implement best practices by developing, refining, iterating, integrating, testing, staging and deploying maintainable technical solutions
- Accountable for effectively leading, communicating and managing change ensuring sustainability of process and performance enhancement
- Remain current on the external environment for industry-leading tools, technology, analytics and best practices
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree; two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A strong understanding of the Linux operating system and command line.
- 1 or more years of professional experience in virtualized architectures in VMWare and AWS.
- Experience with containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Demonstrated experience in DevOps concepts and lifecycle
- Ability to break down complex problems, implement custom solutions and automate them in a secure manner
- Experience with systems integration, requirements analysis, and process implementation
