Horsetooth Hot Sauce is a fast growing family owned company. We pride ourselves on making high quality craft hot sauces, bbqs and bloody mix for Colorado and beyond. We are an energetic and highly motivated company.

We are looking for an employee that can match or surpass our energy and motivation. We seek an individual with a penchant for detail but also prides themselves on being efficient in a production/manufacturing style environment. Our ideal employee consists of a person who wants to grow with our company in grassroots fashion. Able to be versatile and willing to take on new and different roles and responsibilities as they become available.

Sets up and operates large volume cooking equipment on production line such as a steam kettle and volumetric piston filler and label machine.

Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and processes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.

Prepare and cook sauces according to recipes and processes created by Horsetooth Hot Sauce.

Observe and test all sauces to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting and smelling.

Performs quality control checks including Inspecting and monitoring filled containers to ensure that product is capped, packed and coded according to specifications and health department requirements.

Ensures that appropriate safety procedures are followed at all times

Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.

Inspect food preparation areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.

Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the production line, kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.

Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen.

Cleans processing equipment and systems following established procedures in accordance with Food Safety requirements.

Loads and unloads materials and finished product before and after production

Complete legible and accurate paperwork and reports including accurate and legible documentation of lot numbers for traceability

Keeps supervisor informed of supplies needed

Multi-tasking required to ensure all required tasks are completed efficiently and correctly.

Must be self-sufficient/self-starter.

Communicate with other co-workers to resolve any issues in production and communicate changes as needed.

After 3 months in the position have solid understanding of all required processing systems involving manufacturing.

Qualifications

A minimum of 6 months kitchen/manufacturing experience

Valid drivers license and your own reliable vehicle.

Must be available Wednesdays and Thursdays from 8am-8pm

Ability to be flexible with hours on production days

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Must have good hand/eye coordination to monitor and make adjustments to production line.

Must be willing and able to work as a team player

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for up to 7 hours, reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
