Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:

Design, code, test, integration, and maintenance
Develop and enhance STB link layer and IP route management services to facilitate Dish multi-home hosts networks for LAN and Internet
Accomplish tasks, create schedules and estimated development resources for projects
Work within a development team using change control and source code management systems
Work in a dynamic development environment and be responsible for delivering reliable software components
Write software unit tests and hardware-in-the-loop tests to verify code correctness and test system-level interactions
Implement security and privacy policies (firewall, auditability, authentication, access control)

QualificationsQualifications:A successful Software Engineer will have the following:

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Experience developing with C, C, Python, and/or Java, scripting
Working knowledge of Ethernet, WiFi, and network protocols ( TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, IPv6, etc)
Strong testing ethic (unit and hardware-in-the-loop tests)
Proven ability to reason about and debug complex eventually-consistent distributed systems
