Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced CNC machinist with at least 10+ years of manual and CNC machining experience. Applicants must be skilled in prototype development as well as batch manufacturing techniques. This role will be a key asset in the future growth of the company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
CNC milling and lathes (machining centers); familiarity with HAAS controls desired
Manual lathes and mills
CAM system programming; familiarity with Gibbs Cam desired
Inspection methods including conventional manual inspection and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
GD&T ANSI/ASME Y14.5 1994
Solid mathematics background
Speeds, feeds, materials properties
General Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, etc.
Good ability to interact professionally with engineering/scientific, assembly, machine shop, customers, and administrative staff
Articulates with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task, be organized, be highly driven and self-motivate
Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members on a collaborative basis
Must be comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced, challenging work environment

Work Environment:
Our business specializes in precision instrument R&D and manufacturing. Candidate will be working in an instrument machine shop and will be working with engineers and scientist to make parts for devices that integrate ultra-low temperature cryogenics with precision mechanics, vacuum, optics, and electronics. Candidate will also be working with manufacturing to produce batch part builds for instrumentation products.
