Senior Data Engineer (Direct Hire)We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer for an innovative big data company, specializing in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Located near Denver’s historic Union Station, our client is a visionary in the digital out of home (DOOH) advertising marketplace, and primed for explosive growth.If you are ready to hit the ground running with a post-IPO startup, rolling out cool new tech, this could be an exciting opportunity – stock options are still available!

OpportunityTake ownership of improving data and data pipeline architecture in support of needs defined by the Backend, Machine Learning and Data Science teams. Help ensure scalability of data and data lake infrastructure, so that systems stabilize and thrive under increasing load as the organization rolls out across the globe. You will be an essential resource on our client’s engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop data applications/transformations using selected tools and frameworks as required
  • Update existing data store solutions to industry best standards if required
  • Work closely with engineering team to integrate your work into production systems
  • Monitor data performance and modify infrastructure as needed
  • Define data retention policies and produce documentation for all applications created
  • Become the Data Advocate, communicating how all data flows operate

Requirements
  • 5+ years in industry developing big data applications and databases
  • Programming experience in Python and a willingness to learn new programming languages to meet goals and objectives
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL
  • Experience in building and running production data services on AWS
  • Experience in working with real time data processing
  • Experience processing large amounts of structured/unstructured data, including integrating data from multiple sources
  • A solid track record of data management, showing sound execution and attention to detail
  • Must work in Downtown Denver office

Nice to Haves
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum
  • Knowledge of data mining, machine learning, natural language processing, or information retrieval
  • Experience with IoT, Authentication, Smart Cities technologies
  • Experience in Spark, C, JavaScript or other programming languages is a plus
