Northrop Grumman Tactical Space Systems Division is seeking a well-qualified Red Hat / Windows Systems Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. Roles and responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:
  • Provide assistance to fellow team members and end users in investigation, diagnoses, and problem resolution in support of real-time spacecraft operations.
  • Work across disciplines to isolate issues between software, firmware, and hardware, between software and operating systems, between networks and applications, and between one-time events and recurrent systematic problems
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to include, but not limited to, creation of process documentation and How to Guides.
  • Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain network services.
  • Provide feedback to the development and sustainment teams leading to improvements in product stability and functionality.
  • Perform overall administration of Windows client workstations and the associated LINUX servers
  • Perform as a Windows System Administrator for a classified government contract.
  • Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management
  • Install, configure, and perform maintenance of virtual environments to include virtualized servers and VDI Desktops.
  • Analyze internal or external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions.
  • Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.
  • Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases.
  • Work across disciplines to isolate issues between software, firmware, and hardware, between software and operating systems, between networks and applications, and between one-time events and recurrent systematic problems.
  • Lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Work after hours and weekends as needed
  • Oversee daily maintenance and Provide Tier 1 troubleshooting and Support in OpenStack environment
  • The ability to use MS Active Directory to manage accounts
  • Assist users with X.509 certificate generation
  • Update Non person entity X.509 certificate management
  • Assisting ISSM/ISSO with running security scans (ex ACAS)
  • Monitoring and alerting
  • Resource utilization
  • Integrity monitoring or system and configuration files using a tool like AIDE
  • Assisting ISSM/ISSO with reviewing Splunk Security logs

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience OR Master's degree with 1 year of experience OR Associate's degree and 5 years of experience
  • Must have U.S. Citizenship with a current or active Top Secret level clearance and the ability to obtain SCI level access.
  • Must have a Current Security + Certification
  • Experience in LINUX (RHEL 7) Server Administration, OpenStack Administration, and VMWare administration.
  • Experience with Unix Power Scripting (BASH)
  • Unix networking experience within the linux environment
  • Experience with Power VI User
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to Special Access Programs as a condition of continued employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification.
  • Extensive experience with DNS, Active Directory, GPO's, and LDAP configuration.
  • Experience with Backup systems and methods.
  • Experience supporting real-time operations, particularly spacecraft operations.
  • This position can be filled at a higher level - Principal Systems Administrator - Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience OR Master's degree with 4 years of experience OR Associate's degree and 8 years of experience; 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree.

Salary minimum: $67,520.00

Salary maximum: $101,280.00 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
