Boeing Global Services (BGS) engineering has an exciting opportunity and is seeking an experienced, innovative, motivated, and self-starter candidate; Project Engineer (Level 5) to support a multi-disciplined engineering team. This position reports to the BGS practices and processes leader.

The candidate will be involved in the development and sustainment of processes pertaining to design practices across the BGS engineering value stream. The candidate will lead applicable project execution by identifying activities, resources and events for the practices and processes team. This includes creating a suite of standardized and optimized processes that affect the engineering function. In this position, the individual will be collaborating with technical working groups, program SMEs and functional partners across the BGS division to execute engineering design practices and process deliverables and goals. Frequent interaction with technical fellows and engineering leadership - to resolve and lead team "big rocks". Ability to be forward thinking and provide strategic direction on business plans is critical. This position will act in a lead role capacity within the team and organization.

Position Responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities may include (these include day-to-day activities and projects) :
  • Supports BGS Practices and Processes leader on engineering initiatives.
  • Executes finance and budgeting request for BGS related activities in collaboration with the engineering practices and processes leader.
  • Develops new statements of work (SOW) or refines existing ( SOW) to satisfy research and development, for ongoing and new business requirements within the BGS core engineering people, processes, practices, and tools organization. Collaborates with leadership to facilitate process standardization, and performance monitoring.
  • Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of the project or team plan.
  • Understanding of program standards, policies and procedure.
  • Lead BGS core engineering reviews related to design practices initiatives, and other key working groups (initiatives and deliverables). Lead key activities compiles actions to drive resolution of repeat/recurrent issues.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate technical changes on behalf of the engineering processes and practices leadership.
  • Lead and support BGS engineering functional and business unit related activities.
  • Ability to execute and collaborate cross functionally (BGS division) with teams such as technical boards to ensure appropriate visibility of key process initiatives.
  • Partners with technical leads across the BGS engineering division to execute initiatives.
  • Creates reports and presentations for senior leadership.
  • The ability to create formal documentation, and adequate performance metrics.
  • The ability to provide training to others.
  • Identifies corrective actions to improve project performance.
  • Works under minimal direction, serves as a consultant to leadership.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 14+ years of experience within an engineering discipline such as (industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, process engineering, systems engineering, quality engineering or other engineering disciplines)
  • 10+ years project management experience.
  • 10+ years of experience working with cross-functional or cross-organizational teams to develop and implement plans, schedules, or solutions.
  • Demonstrated lead role in an organization, project and/or team.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Currently have a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or higher
  • 10+ years of experience in developing and managing processes and metrics
  • 5+ years of program and/or engineering platform facing experience.
  • Experience with RIOs, RCCA, and Lean

Typical Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Hybrid/Telecommute:

This Hybrid position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
