About the role: GIS Analyst, Data Insights | Data & Analytics
- Reporting to the Director of Advanced Analytics within the Data and Analytics organization, this role will be responsible for driving evidence-based decision making specifically in the Real Estate space by developing Gap Inc's next-generation reporting, dashboards and tools. We are looking for someone with strong skills taking ambiguous problems and defining development opportunities.
- The Data and Analytics organization is a critical component of the Digital and Technology Team at Gap Inc. This organization is chartered with unlocking the power of data and analytics to drive action across Gap Inc.
- Key liaison between Real Estate Finance team and Data & Analytics organization to understand user needs and translate those insights into areas of opportunity for developing solutions/final products.
- Responsible for strategic and on-going data analysis, reporting and visualizations for the Real Estate Finance team to aid in market planning decisions.
- Expected to incorporate new and existing geo-spatial data sources, partnering with Data & Analytics team members on sustainable data ingestion patterns.
- Perform wrangling and cleaning to convert data into usable form.
- Analyze spatial data through the use of mapping tools to discover patterns and trends.
- Own GIS results and present findings to various levels of stakeholders.
- 3+ years of direct work experience delivering geo-spatial analytics required, specifically working in the real estate or retail space preferred.
- Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
- Proficiency with front end Business Intelligence tools such PowerBI or Tableau.
- Experience with mapping tools such as ArcGIS and Carto.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Able to effectively communicate and train both users and technical audiences.
- Comfortable presenting data visuals / reports to executive stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities, escalate appropriately and handle multiple assignments at once.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as a high degree of analytical curiosity.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Surveying, Engineering or related field required.
