Kennel Attendant/ Veterinary Assistant

We are looking for a long-term and hard-working individual for our small animal hospital kennel attendant/veterinary assistant position. This is an 8-5, Monday-Thursday or Monday-Friday job depending on the applicant's and our needs. You will be responsible for all care of our boarding pets including medicating, feeding, exercising, cleaning, and monitoring their health. You will be the primary employee in charge of hospital cleaning and maintenance. You will also assist the veterinarian, veterinary technician, and receptionist as needed with all phases of veterinary medicine including client communications, animal restraint and treatments, filling prescriptions, working with computers and electronic medical records, etc. The ability to restrain large dogs and lift at least 50 lbs is a must. Prior experience working in a small animal hospital or kennel is preferred, but we will consider applicants with other significant small animal experience. A drug and/or background check may be required prior to hiring.
