Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are a fast-paced, small orthopedic spine office looking for an outgoing, hardworking, Medical Assistant to join our team! You will perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. To be successful as a Medical Assistant, you should have a pleasant personality and look professional, as this is also a customer service role. You should be able to deal with emergencies in a timely and effective manner, while streamlining office operations. Multitasking, detailed oriented, and taking initiative are essential for this position. This role may require filling in for other positions in the office (i.e. receptionist, checking-out patients, etc.), so flexibility is a must.

Responsibilities

Escort patients to exam rooms and perform an intake

Take vital signs

Scribe in an EHR for physician during patient visits

Draw medications for injections

Communicate with insurance companies to get surgery authorizations approved

Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email

Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing

Skills

Fast learner, technology literate, and takes initiative

Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)

Professional attitude and appearance

Solid written and verbal communication skills

Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise

Excellent organizational skills

Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks

Customer service attitude

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
