Job Description:

We are seeking a lead carpenter/foreman looking to take the next step in management as a site superintendent. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, with the ability to manage and oversee construction projects from start to finish. This role requires a hands-on approach, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards while maintaining a safe and productive job site.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Supervise and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Perform carpentry tasks, including framing, finishing, and installation of doors, windows, cabinets, and other custom elements.

2.Interpret and work from construction blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements and plans.

3.Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.

Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.

4.Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures.

5.Conduct quality control inspections to ensure work meets the company’s high standards, including proper measurements, accurate installations, and attention to detail.

6.Identify and troubleshoot issues that arise during construction projects and find effective solutions to overcome challenges.

7.Maintain daily logs, reports, and records of project progress, including work performed, materials used, and any changes made to project plans or specifications.

8.Provide leadership and mentorship to apprentices and other team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.

9.Communicate effectively with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure client satisfaction with the completed work.

10.Maintain and care for tools, equipment, and machinery used in their trade to ensure they are in good working condition and safe to use.

11.Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns, answering questions, and ensuring client satisfaction with the completed work.

Qualifications:

-Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter, with at least 5 years in the field.

-Strong knowledge and skills in carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.

-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

-Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

-Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

-OSHA certification and other relevant safety training are a plus.

-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

-Candidates must be legal to work in the US and fluent in English.

-Ownership of a set of hand tools is required.

-Candidates must have a clean driving record and a valid California Driver's License.

-Although not required, San Francisco residents are preferred due to all job sites being located in San Francisco.
