Experienced Embedded Systems/EE, control loops

Join a world class product team developing a game changing robotic furniture system. We are a group within an established startup backed by top venture capital, with the possibility to spin out.

This is a full time consulting role with the potential to lead to salaried employment based on performance.

This is an on-location job: you must be able to work in downtown San Francisco 3-5 days per week.

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on engineer that has brought custom PCBs from concept to production. The winning candidate will likely have taken a design from needs-specification to circuit schematic, dev-board validation, layout design, fabrication and assembly, through to onboard MCU flashing and shipping of working units. You have a breadth of experience across both firmware and electrical engineering.

-You deliver. You may enjoy thoughtful conversations about problems and perfecting design, but in the end you know that what matters is delivering reliable manufacturable solutions.

Key qualifications:

-10+ years of experience with embedded systems.

-Strong in C/C.

-Knowledge of MCU architectures, peripherals, and development environments, particularly Texas Instruments MCUs.

-Experienced producing electrical schematics and specifications.

-Deep knowledge of control loops and systems.

-Strong EE fundamentals.

-HW/FW/SW debugging skills with lab equipment.

-Able to work in downtown San Francisco 3-5 days per week.

Preferred qualifications:

-Experience with Texas Instruments MCUs.

-Have implemented, tested, and tuned PID control loops on two or more systems.

-Experience with TCP/IP stacks from a practical embedded perspective.

-Experience with IoT systems and AWS IoT.

-Experience with product management and/or Design Thinking.
