Job Description:

La Casita Day School is hiring part-time and full-time preschool, pre-K, and Kinder teachers. Teachers are responsible for delivering a high quality program developed by the curriculum specialist. Our curriculum is an arts integrated program that develops social/emotional, intellectual, and the physical skills necessary to enter kindergarten and beyond, all while learning Spanish. The duties and responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of the Curriculum Specialist.

Hours: Part-time and full time positions available.

Compensation: All our teachers are hired on a W-2 and are compensated hourly based on experience and degree. Housing potentially available and room for growth.

Responsibilities:

May vary according to the need(s) of the events and may include:

Teach the Spanish language to children

Teach social-emotional skills.

Assist the curriculum specialist in preparing instructional materials, classroom activities, and lesson plans for student learning.

Assist in curriculum development.

Collaborate with and receive coaching and ongoing professional development from the curriculum specialist.

Ensuring the health and well-being of the children.

Assist in maintaining safety standards and a healthy environment in the school.

Respond to parent questions regarding student's progress and performance.

Playground and lunch supervision.

Ability to work effectively with diverse students, parents.

Good writing and verbal communication skills.

Ability and desire to be a positive role model.

Co-coordinate the daily activities of all the children.

Co-plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program. Ability to successfully instruct and differentiate students at different ability levels.

Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games, arts and crafts and storytelling.

Must have a nurturing and supportive tone with students.

Always maintain professional conduct.

Meet deadlines with consistency.

Ability to keep detailed records of children’s progress.

Qualifications

Teacher's credential in Spanish language or currently enrolled in a credentialing program a plus, but not necessary. If you are patient, love to be with children, and are willing to learn please apply.

AA or bachelor’s degree a plus in related field, i.e., Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Human Development, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Art, is a plus, but not necessary.

12 core semester units in early childhood education/child development from an accredited or approved college or university, and at least 6 months of work experience in a licensed childcare center or comparable group childcare program a plus, but not necessary

Excited about early childhood education and making a difference with children.

Can relate to children and adults in a positive, respectful manner.

Creative and focused on creating a warm and welcoming environment for children.

CPR & First Aide certification prior to employment a plus, but not necessary. Can be certified once employed.

Ability to teach and demonstrate language skills and concepts to children in a fun and engaging manner.

Commitment to integrating social-emotional learning skills into the language curriculum.

Meets all state-required conditions of employment including Live-scan and TB clearance. Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Assessments of student progress, offering feedback and encouragement appropriate to students' developmental age, communicating with other staff and parents regarding student needs and progress.

Demonstrates high level of professionalism and ethical conduct, including excellent customer service toward students and teachers

Enjoys helping students to grow and succeed both academically, socially, and emotionally.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Is responsible and trustworthy

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

Be able to lift 25-30 lbs.

Be able to walk, squat/kneel, sit on floor, see, hear, and speak with children to ensure children’s health and safety
