The Sequoias San Francisco is seeking to fill a Staff Developer/RN position. This is a full time non-exempt. The position includes full health benefits, pension participation, and employer 403b retirement contributions. Compensation depends on experience.

Job Summary:

This position plans, organizes, develops, and teaches ongoing educational programs for the development and improvement of health services staff as required by all applicable regulations. Provides in-services and coordinates computerized training programs, maintains records for staff trainings in accordance with Sequoia Living procedures. Administers CNA competency tests and conducts routine rounds of care provided by CNAs to identify issues of care. Conducts new hire orientation program for all new hires. Plans, organizes, develops, and coordinates the Infection Control Program and its activities in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations. Administers Medication Pass Skills Test. Observes and reports techniques of the Food Service Staff in dietary and works with the Housekeeping Manager regarding CNA performance related to sanitary practices of spills and soiled linen handling, participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) function by collecting and analyzing data, establishes new procedures to assure correction of recognized care issues and reporting at CQI meetings, assists the Safety Officer in the community's disaster and safety plans, especially in the area of fire drills and safety meetings for Health Services staff, and perform other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Director of Nursing and may serve as a Charge Nurse as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

A year of nursing experience in providing direct care to aged persons in an acute or long term community and one year of experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating education programs in the field on nursing. Must currently have a California nursing license, Basic Life Support certification, and be qualified to provide required medication training.

Preferred Qualifications:

Five or more years of experience outlined in the minimum qualifications and current possession of a California RN license and Basic Life Support certification. Qualified to provide required medication training to staff. BA degree or higher with demonstrated knowledge of Title 22, OBRA, OSHA, and Prop 65.
