Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax preparation and business accounting. This role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support our clients' needs. We consider this job to be a Full Time during tax season/ Part Time off tax season based on workload. During the tax season, approximately Feb 1 - April 15, hours are full time with some overtime depending on the workload. Off season schedule is determined by the Extension clients timing, the Tax Planning work, and other projects that arise. This is an in-office position with no remote work.

Responsibilities

Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses

Ensure compliance with current federal and state tax laws

Perform general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliation

Experience

Candidates should have a solid foundation in taxation principles with experience in the following areas:

5+ years experience in a busy Tax office environment preparing individual and business tax returns

Must hold a current License as an EA or CPA

Experience with resolution of clients IRS and FTB notices

Knowledge and basic experience using QuickBooks Desktop and Online accounting software platforms in support of tax preparation.

Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with clients

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple clients efficiently

Strong analytical skills for review of clients facts and circumstances

Experience in non-profit accounting is advantageous but not required

Excellent oral and written communication
