Job summaryWe are looking for a Software Development Engineer to help define a new developer experience for building Amazon.com. We are building tools, framework, templating language and IDE integrations, rendering engine, and runtime libraries used by thousands of engineers around the world. As a team, we set the bar for shopping features and overall developer experience including deploying client/server side code and frontend rendering. Our customer base gives us incredible leverage and the spotlight is often on us. We think in terms of frameworks not features and build tools and languages.

Key job responsibilitiesAs a Software engineer, you will directly be responsible for building features and continuously experiment with new ideas on Amazon website and application. You will influence technical decisions around frontend frameworks, templating languages and evolve them to impact the rendering stack at Amazon. You will influence build and downstream systems to improve run time performance, security and scalability.

A day in the lifeWhen you join our team, you will use Kotlin to build features and continuously experiment with new ideas on Amazon website and application. You will use Git to manage continuous deployments while focusing on testability, scalability, maintainability, code quality, and cogent design. Our products include reusable component framework for Amazon, asset build/deploy system used by thousands of engineers, and an in-house templating language which compiles to Java, Perl, JavaScript, that enables engineers across the world to create features for shoppers.
