Amazon Music's Free Tier team is looking for a full-stack Software Engineer who has the desire to innovate, design, and build the services and clients that will enable the best music experience for millions of customers around the world. As a software engineer, you will work both independently and alongside teams in Amazon Music to architect and develop new music features for our customers through voice and visual experiences. We are a uniquely positioned team that works across platforms and clients including but not limited to iOS, Android, Web, TV, and Alexa integrations. It a great place to grow your full stack skills.

The ideal candidate is interested in being part of a nimble team that is passionate about experimenting and innovating for customers, has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new features and products, and is excited about having end-to-end ownership of high-impact, high-visibility projects. A commitment to collaboration, proficiency in evaluating alternative solutions, and strong communication skills (with both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. The role requires having a solid depth of technical knowledge, being well-versed in industry best practices, and possessing attention to details.

About the teamOur team is focused on giving customers the best ad-supported music experience available while enabling those who want a paid on-demand music experience to convert to Amazon Music Unlimited. We build systems that are distributed globally on a large scale, spanning our mobile apps, web player, and Amazon Echo devices. Amazon Music offerings are available in countries around the world, and our applications support our mission of delivering music and other audio content to customers in new and exciting ways that enhance their day-to-day lives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • Programming experience with at least one software programming language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  • Android development experience in both Java and Kotlinn
  • iOS development experience in Swift
  • Familiarity with federated architecture strategies in large-scale mobile apps
  • MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
  • A proven ability to learn and adapt to new, complex development environments
  • Firm understanding of software development principles
