RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in search of a Big Data Architect in San Francisco, CA.

Summary:Our client's Big Data Solutions group is responsible for the strategic architecture, engineering, and deployment of their Big Data ecosystem. Our client has recently moved to AWS - with that, they need to evaluate their tech stack against business needs and modernize for speed to market, self-service, timely transformation etc. We a looking for a strong Data Architect that aid with the vision of our Client's new environment. The Architect will work with their data engineering teams and business partners to design solutions to meet business needs whilst moving them towards their target architecture. You have a successful track record architecting Big Data tech stack to support modern data warehousing in AWS.

Duties: Big Data Architect will modernize existing Hadoop stack to provide near-real time transformations and data distribution Provide ideas and opinions on big data serialization formats like ORC, Parquet, Avro As a Big Data Architect, you will design effective streaming systems using technologies like Spark Streaming, Apache Flink/Storm, Apache Kafka and Kinesis

REQUIREMENTS: You know different ingestion patterns and ETL processing mechanisms and ability to drive standard implementations across organization You're a great teammate with a dedication to grow others around you through technical curiosity and collaboration You have a real passion for designing and leading the implementation of resilient, distributed software platforms and large-scale data infrastructures You have a desire to learn about, evaluate and appropriately drive team adoption of new technologies and methodologies Python experience Experience and knowledge of Software Design patterns and their applications to Data Warehouse development

Pluses include: Familiarity with AWS, Qubole, Airflow, Snowflake, cloud MPPs Prior software engineering experience, familiarity with Java/Scala/SQL Prior Open Source contributions or interest in contributing to this
