sandeep dot mandadi at ness dot com or you can reach me at Title: AWS / Devops Expert - Cloud formation & Cloud automation (Principal Engineer)Duration: Long termLocation: Bay Area, CAONLY SENIOR CANDIDATES 12+ YEARS PLZThe Systems Engineering team at Client and is looking for a strong Software development engineer who would contribute to the development of the Observability effort and Services Framework and enhance the overall customer experience at Client.The ideal candidate is a senior or principal level engineer who is well versed in Web technologies, software development and has done some DevOps work including building major platforms, building the monitoring and alerting infrastructure, building CICD pipelines, and has developed tools to support the digital experience such as monitoring dashboards.The principal software engineer will play a critical role in leading the design and development of the Observability and Services framework and play an influential role across development teams. The seasoned engineer will Partner with the Architecture team on best practices to enhance application availability and resilience, promote and apply best practices for building scalable and reliable services across engineering. This role will be critical in the setup, enhancement, and maintenance of application services like load balancing, security controls, and traffic management, monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, metrics & reporting systems for fine-grained observability, and actionable alerting, to deliver a robust Digital Experience and enable the teams for more efficient control of their systems higher level of visibility to customer issues.Responsibilities:• Design and Build the observability toolkit including logging, tracing, and metrics using a variety of tools including CloudWatch, New Relic, Grafana, CloudFormation, Terraform, Lambda, Micrometer, etc.• Design and Build the services framework: Configuration, Metrics collection, building Circuit breaker and retry mechanism, Service registry and discovery, Transport-related boilerplate (HTTP and Events) using Spring boot.• Build automation to setup Early Warning Alerts and Service Level Objectives as part of the Client Infrastructure framework.• Analyze system and application level metrics for Peak capacity planning and for troubleshooting• Work with teams across the organization to build and maintain monitor-able, performant, reliable and highly resilient and scalable software systems• Designing, building, running and monitoring production infrastructure• Self-starter who enjoys working in high pressure environments and understands the pressure and pride of maintaining a world class 24/7 production environment.• Desire and the ability to specify goals and constraints, propose alternative solutions to issues, consider risks, and evaluate and choose best course of action.• Author technical documentation for workflows/processes/best practices.
