Marine Technician
California, San diego, 92101 San diego USAWe are seeking an experienced Marine Technician to join our team. If you are skilled in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting marine vessels, and you take pride in delivering top-notch work, we want to hear from you.
Position begins ASAP
Part-time, Contract
Estimated 20 hours (2-4 days) per week through the winter as a training/trial period moving to full-time come summer
Flexible Scheduling (Can schedule work around other obligations)
Will be expected to obtain a business license (We can help with this)
Compensation DOE: $25/hourly (Entry Level) - $45/hourly (Experienced Technician)
The Company:
Watermark, a marine tech company, specializes in routine maintenance of private yachts in the 40 to 80 foot range. Boats are inspected regularly and issues that are discovered are fixed to factory standards. We have dozens of customers throughout San Diego who rely on our expertise and guidance to maintain their vessels. Watermark strives to build quality relationships with boat owners to ensure they trust that their boat will be properly cared for.
Requirements:
Ability to operate all systems on a boat and understand their purpose
Reliable Transportation
Basic Tools (We will provide additional supplies to complete jobs)
Knowledge of basic systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, motors, pumps, etc.
Maintain a clean workspace and be able to prevent damage to surrounding areas
Knowledge of marine engines: outboards, inboard/outboard, and inboard gas and diesel
Analytical Thinking - Recognize issues and find solutions
Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner

Job Duties:
Mechanical and Engine Work:
Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing inboard and outboard engines.
Performing routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and replacing filters.
Troubleshooting mechanical issues and conducting overhauls.
Electrical Systems:
Diagnosing and repairing marine electrical systems, including lighting, navigation, and charging systems.
Installing and maintaining electronic equipment such as GPS, radar, depth finders, and communication systems.
Plumbing:
Maintaining and repairing plumbing systems, such as bilge pumps and freshwater systems.
Preventative Maintenance:
Performing regular maintenance to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of marine equipment.
Keeping detailed records of maintenance and repairs for clients.
