Would you like to make gelato and possibly eat a lot of it?

An's Dry Cleaning is seeking a Gelato Maker to join our team.

The Gelato Maker will measure, mix, cook, and freeze ingredients to make gelato and sorbets. In addition to eating lots of gelato, the Gelato Maker will be involved in the creation and testing of new flavors/recipes.

The ideal candidate is interested and willing to assist in all facets of crafting high quality Gelato and Sorbet. Culinary, kitchen, or pastry experience is preferred, but not required. Must be clean, responsible, and hard working. In addition, the ability to multitask is critical. The applicant must possess the ability to work as part of a team and independently. This is a professional kitchen and we expect professionalism from all of our employees.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Capable of following recipes accurately and memorizing volumetric measurements

Ability to lift at least 50-lbs, work in a standing position and perform other physically demanding tasks on a daily basis

Follow directions confidently and precisely

Communicate effectively and directly with supervisors and colleagues

Compliance with all Food Safety Standards is mandatory

Management of all ordering and acceptance of daily deliveries and ability to keep things within set cost margins with suppliers

Work with FOH (Front of House)

Maintain organization of kitchen, including organization and cleanliness of dry storage, freezers, and dairy fridge

Conduct daily quality checks of products

Hours of work: Part-Time, with potential for full time

Salary: $15 to $20 / hour, depending on qualifications and experience + tips.
