Northrop Grumman Space Components Business Unit designs, manufactures and operates small and medium-class spacecraft for communications, imaging, scientific, exploration and national security space applications. The Group is leading supplier of space components that power and enable satellites of all classes, provides technical engineering services to government agencies and laboratories, and is developing exciting new satellite servicing and advanced space flight technologies.

Northrop Grumman Space Components Business Unit is seeking an Engineering Applications Support Specialist to join our team.

This position will be located in San Diego, CA.

A Sr Principal Engineering Applications Support Specialist interfaces between systems analysts/programmers and users located in a specialized area to ensure that information technology designs meet the needs of the end users within an organization. Documents product/service requirements and develops test procedures to ensure user requests are carried out. Requires thorough understanding and knowledge regarding system architecture and capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide client-side application installations, configuration changes, general maintenance and monitoring (Microsoft Windows environment)
  • Create software packages of software applications to be installed in software store
  • Create and maintain user accounts on various software platforms and websites, including Teamcenter PLM
  • Troubleshoot software installation and/or connection issues
  • Troubleshoot NX part, assembly, or drawing issues
  • Troubleshooting FlexLM license issues
  • Create and maintain documentation and Best Practice documents and perform basic user training
  • Perform testing of new functionality/configuration changes to assure defect free implementations
  • Create necessary documentation around new projects both for administrator and end user
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in an Engineering or IT environment
  • Ability to install/uninstall multiple types of software in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PLM workflows; as a user, creator, and troubleshooter
  • Experience with Siemens NX installations; customer defaults configuration, start parts, drafting templates, pax files, etc.
  • Experience with NX CAD model, assembly, and drawing creation
  • Experience with NX drafting standards for both 2D drawings and 3D annotated models
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with creating and editing batch files, PowerShell scripts, xml files, etc.
  • Programming experience creating APIs using Python, Java, C#, and/or VisualStudio
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work independently
  • Ability to perform work in a virtual environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using and configuring Analysis software applications such as FEMAP and NX NASTRAN
  • Experience with other CAD or PLM systems besides NX and Teamcenter

Salary Range: $114,300 USD - $171,500 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
