RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced Network Monitoring Engineer for our global Print Technology Client's R&D group in San Diego, California (CA). The ideal candidates will have proven, hands-on experience monitoring enterprise networks to include hardware/networking systems/data centers, etc.

Summary:This team is crucial the success of the San Diego campus as well as the remote data center support. While working in this role you will be the only person who is strictly dedicated to oversight of the network monitoring tools so prior experience in multiple environments is crucial.

Project: While working on this project you will be asked to perform the below duties and additional duties upon request: Maintain all monitoring tools Monitor servers, network switches, applications, wireless systems, end point management systems and data center statistics Research and test emerging solutions to enhance efficiency of solutions Analyze network data to help guide improvements that can be made Coordinate planned outages for patch/firmware updates that will not cause major business disruption

REQUIREMENTS: Experience with any network monitoring tools (ex: Open NMS, etc.) Strong scripting skills (Ruby, python, bash, Perl) Experience working in both Windows OS and Linux environment Supported various network systems Experience working with switches Need to be incredibly smart, detail oriented, critical thinker and be able to investigate what changes could be made and how it will impact the business Think outside of the box mindset Willing to learn new tools
