Sr. Network Engineer

Description SAIC is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer on a new program located at in San Diego, CA.

• Provides engineering expertise to support, maintain, develop, and test existing and new communications systems for NIWC PAC.
• Provide network engineering expertise for the development of a replacement for the existing system.
• Assist the team in the requirements and engineering of the next generation of SUBOPAUTH implemented networks that leverage enterprise solution currently being implemented. Implement modern hyper converged infrastructure solution sets that need to fit into a footprint of architectures that require redundancy and the ability to work in denied environments autonomously. SUBOPAUTH and LBUCS are working with an inter-disciplinary team of architects from PMW 130 and PMW 790 in the design of a managed, protected, and maneuverable working environment for a mission critical application for the Navy.
• Provide a high level of network engineering and system administration expertise in the development, research components and vendors analyze costs, functionality and schedules to provide recommendations to the customer.
• Maintain lab systems, provide support for testing, and provide status of progress to the customer.

• HS/GED and thirteen (13) years of experience OR Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
• Active DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
• CCNA, CCNP, or CCDP certification
• Security+, CASP, or CISSP certification.
• 6 years in hands-on translating requirements into design for networks and HCI
• Relevant experience in Hyper-converged architectures
• Relevant experience in Cisco Networking and Firewalls/ASAs
• Relevant experience in network management and control
• Must be able to work 75% of the time at Point Loma and 25% of the time at Old Towne SPAWAR.
