POSITION DESCRIPTIONThe Software Systems Developer works as part of a software development team to design andimplement software systems. This position performs systems analysis and design and developssoftware testing procedures and system documentation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS• Analyzes software applications and client requirements.• Design software solutions.• Construct software applications and testing procedures.• Writes program code.• Test operation of software applications.• Test procedures and other elements of software applications.• Implement software solutions.• Prepares documentation of system design and application operation.

JOB REQUIREMENTSExperience in the analysis of software applications, application design and programming, developing,and implementing software solutions in Visual Basic and .NET, programming in a Microsoft SQLServer database environment. Skill in assessing and communicating programming needs, analyzing in an interactive systems environment. Knowledge of Visual Basic programming in a windows environment; application design and programming with a relational database; principles and methods of systems; procedures and analysis in an interactive systems environment; principles and techniques of systems planning and programming; concepts and specifics of database management; and information systems and technology. Ability to meet established timelines for project completion, communicate effectively in both oral and written form, analyze, and resolve operational problems, develop effective programming solutions, travel to various locations. Physical Abilities include sitting for extended periods of time, lifting, reaching, pushing/pulling, fine manual dexterity, talking/hearing, and near and far visual acuity, depth perception, color vision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS• Two (2) years of work experience in Visual Basic programming in a Microsoft SQL Server databaseenvironment.• Two (2) years of work experience designing/developing client-server/multi-tier/enterprise-wideinteractive software applications.• Possession of a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or closelyrelated fields – OR – four (4) additional years of work experience in Visual Basic programming in aMicrosoft SQL Server database environment – OR possession of an Associate degree in BusinessAdministration, Information Technology, or closely related field and two (2) additional years ofwork experience in Visual Basic programming in a Microsoft SQL Server database environment.• Possession of a high school diploma (or its equivalency) or higher or possession of a GED.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS• Experience in designing/programming ASP.Net Web Development.• Experience in designing/programming using object-oriented analysis and design techniques.• One (1) year full-time experience in a California school district or County Office of Education.NECESSARY MATERIALS FOR APPLICATION• Completed Ed-Join online Application (incomplete applications will not be accepted.
