Automotive Contract Clerk

Job Description

Mel Rapton Honda is seeking an experienced Contracts Clerk.

The Contract Clerk is responsible for handling the accounting and posting for all vehicle sales. This position is responsible for processing Dealer Trades, RDR of new vehicle sales, and applying for manufacturer incentives.

This position also performs a wide range of administrative and office support duties associated with vehicle documentation. He or she also assists with inventory tracking, record keeping, and reporting as well as managing contractual documentation with numerous financial institutions.

The ideal candidate has a MINIMUM of one year of experience as a dealership contracts clerk. Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment handling multiple projects. Candidate must have excellent communication, administrative, organizational, and computer skills, and be able to work closely with the General Sales Manager, and the Sales and Finance management team.

Candidate must be detail-oriented, have a working knowledge of GAAP, and be proficient with dealership accounting software as well as Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Handles the accounting and posting for all vehicle sales

Manages contractual documentation with financial institutions

Balances Sales Commissions & Pay

Reconciles schedules and ensures payments are consistent with set schedules, (CIT and Down Payment)

Ensures that all accounting transactions comply with financial policies and procedures

Prints, analyzes, and distributes reports as requested by management

Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Reynolds and Reynolds experience a plus

Strong computer and internet skills

One year MINIMUM experience in a dealership business office with an emphasis on sales contracts

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Able to deal with confidential information appropriately

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Highly professional and dependable
