Licensed RN with at least one year of hospital experience or LVN with at least 4 years of experience to care for active female attorney in her home. Patient has quadriplegia and is ventilator dependent as a result of a spinal cord injury sustained 23 years ago. Patient works in downtown Sacramento at professional office building (Currently working from home due to pandemic).
Good assessment skills, including clinical knowledge and experience (or ability to inquire) in caring for the immobile patient and the high-level spinal cord injured patient. Knowledge and ability to apply nursing interventions. Implementation and initiative required. Understanding and foresight for abnormalities presented and the potential for future clinical demise, including secondary conditions. Must be able to transfer patient into and out of bed.
Professional behavior required; no smoking, no texting or talking on the phone, good communication skills and dress appropriately for a professional office. Opportunities to travel for dinners, conferences, etc. Shifts are 12 hours 7:00 am- 7:00 pm and 7:00 pm - 7:00 am. MUST have valid California Driver License and Active California Nursing License.
Typically no set days available unless you have a hospital job which will accommodate a set day in addition to your other schedule. Transfer out of bed is with an electric lift.
