Clinical Application Systems Analyst Contract Term: 6 - 12 Months Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid)

Kelly Technology is currently recruiting for a clinical system analyst (contractors) to provide technical support to downstream (non-EPIC) clinical applications.

Job description: The consultant will provide Level 2 technical support for downstream non-EPIC clinical applications in multiple clinical departments throughout the health system. This technical support will include day to day operational support, maintenance as well as project support. DSG (Departmental System Group) support downstream clinical non-EPIC applications, clinical servers, workstations as well as thousands of clinical devices (in collaboration with BioMed and other IT teams).

Responsibilities: The selected candidate will be responsible for: Provides Level 2 technical software and systems support to staff, physicians and remote staff on department-specific clinical applications and systems. Resolves support issues escalated from Level 1 support. Incumbent will escalate calls outside knowledge and experience to Level 3 (Vendor) support as required. Provide hands-on technical support for hardware, operating system and complex distributed clinical information systems in the hospital and clinic environment. In conjunction with clinical and other technical staff, monitor and optimize systems and network performance. Diagnose hardware, operating system and specific application problems; coordinate solutions with and escalate to vendors when appropriate. Design, coordinate, perform and document testing of new or upgraded software applications to validate software functionality prior to implementation. Coordinate and install new or upgraded application software in conjunction with appropriate IT units and complete tasks associated with the implementation. Develop, implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery plans for department clinical computing environment. Write and maintain Level 1 & Level 2 support guidelines for assigned systems. Provide assistance in access management. Assist with go-live planning and support for new releases and implementations. On-Call and after-hours participation as required to assist with the team's support responsibilities, provide technical support for product go-lives, vendor upgrades and other events conducted outside normal business hours.

Qualifications: Demonstrated high level knowledge of the total computing environment including hardware, operating system, software, and application software with respect to technologies appropriate to the healthcare industry. Demonstrated skill and knowledge to consistently, effectively and efficiently perform technical support of complex distributed information systems with minimal direction. Extensive experience with one or more Server-based Operating Systems. Knowledge of Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN) and other network data storage solutions. Knowledge of one or more Database technologies (e.g. SQL) and associated architectures. Demonstrated knowledge of state-of-the-art network systems, using various hardware platforms and integration of multiple third-party software solutions, in a large network environment, with several remote computing interfaces. Knowledge of standard computing network configurations and hardware including routers, hubs, repeaters, network interface cards, Ethernet, fiber-optics, LAN software, and diagnostic hardware and software.
