We are looking for a collaborative partner to expand and elevate our Consumer Insights (CI) program and team. The CI team will define our consumer based on what we know, identify what we need to learn, develop, and execute research that balances research approaches, and craft insights from data into a center of excellence that inform business decisions.If you are passionate about getting to know the consumer and excited about bringing consumer insights into business strategies and decisions, you are a great candidate for this role. The Insights team at Balsam serves the entire company and partners directly with cross-functional teams to listen, inform, and integrate insights in the business at Balsam. By advocating for the consumer, you will be actively involved in shaping decisions that address the needs and desires of our current and future consumers.This position reports to the Director of Consumer Insights. This is a full-time position located in Redwood City, California. We have a hybrid work setup, which will include a blend of days working in-office and remotely.What you’ll do: Partner with the Director of Consumer Insights to shape and refine our Insights Learning Roadmap, working with business teams to prioritize projects, including those that support our core and emerging businessesSynthesize multi-sourced insights into easy to understand, concise, and cohesive story of our key audiences (BH Customers and Prospects)Partner and coordinate with internal stakeholders across functions to develop and execute end-to-end research projects/programsDesign, execute and deliver insightful research to support Balsam Brands’ strategic initiatives across the organization to unlock answers to key business questions to drive action and growth in our businessResearch scope includes qualitative and quantitative techniques, analytics:Including approach, RFP development and management, supplier partner selection (as applicable), fieldwork execution, supplier-partner management, project management, analysis plan creation, in-depth data analysis, reporting and presentation, insight integration, and storytellingWork with cross-functional leads to integrate insights at appropriate times in the planning cycle and develop relevant business consideration based on insightsYou’ll be successful if:You are curious and love learning about consumers and connecting the dots – unlocking their attitudes and behaviors, what motivates them, and why they make certain choicesAmbiguity ignites your curiosity and curiosity ignites your passion for researchYou enjoy bringing new ideas forward and generating engagement and buy-in from key stakeholders always being adaptable and flexibleYou love and respect data and strive to bring data (quantitative and qualitative) to life through compelling, relevant, and relatable storytellingYou have a passion to help elevate the CI function to be a valued company resource and center of excellenceWhat you bring to the table: 6+ years of relevant consumer insights experience on the client-side or Market Research consultant side of the business with proven expertise in analyzing and communicating insights in a digestible, actionable, storytelling manner to and for internal business partnersBachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or marketing research requiredGraduate and/or undergraduate-level statistics coursework and practical experience using statistics in quantitative research a plusFluent in a variety of research methodologies with core strength in quantitative approaches and analysisAbility to develop and execute research end-to-endStrong project execution and organization skills, including ability to handle multiple projectsPassion for building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with the ability to work collaboratively to educate and inspire cross-functional teamsAttention to detail, critical thinking, creative problem solving, ambition and evidence of strong work ethicSelf-starter with a desire to continuously improve with the ability to implement new solutionsDemonstrated initiative and ability to work independentlyHistory of excellence and innovation in synthesizing complex findings or findings from various sourcesAn ever-curious attitude applied dailyStrong communication skills – both written and verbalNotes: This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
