Yard Laborer Needed

K&S Staffing Solutions is seeking a Yard Laborer for a local reputable lumber company

Basic production, equipment maintenance and job supervision. Work will be in an outdoor industrial warehouse with various duties such as rotating/moving stock, general cleanup/maintenance, painting, forklift operation including shipping/receiving, among other duties. This work is fast paced and at times can be demanding. There will be repetitive lifting and will work in the hot and cold weather. Occasionally calls for overtime or weekend work during busy production times.

Required Qualifications:

Must maintain an active driver's license and reliable transportation

Must be reliable and dependable

Forklift experience is a must and will be certified

Exhibit good performance, safety and attendance record

Must follow all safety protocol and wear all required PPE

Ability to perform the essential functions of the position which includes, climbing stairs, navigating catwalks, bending, lifting, stooping and lifting over 50 lbs and 20 lbs consistently to move objects.

Must have the ability to learn new skills and retain information

Must be a self-starter, work independently and also work as a team

Must have great communication and leadership skills

Must be a problem solver

Reference checks will be performed

Drug free

Mechanical experience:

Ability to read a tape measure, blueprints and sketches are helpful

Ability to accurately preform basic math skills

Attention to detail and accuracy

Understand troubleshooting and how to explain the problem in everyday terms

Lumber Mill, Farm or Machine Shop experience a must; Including but not limited to:

Ability to follow safety procedures and maintaining a clean workstation to each assigned area

Having worked around industrial equipment is a plus

Layout, measurement spatial concepts and tooling knowledge is needed

Understanding properties of metal and wood; Including verbal terms and measurements

Loading/unloading trucks, working in production and helping with special projects

Full time: Monday-Friday (with some weekends and overtime)

Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm

Starting pay: $13-$15/hr DOE
