Project Manager needed for a contract opportunity with our client in Pleasanton, CA. JOB DESCRIPTIONThe project manager will guide, support, and move forward several key ongoing projects in our organization.
- Working closely with team members and leaders from various areas of the business, the Project Manager will ensure that all project requirements, deadlines, and schedules are on track.
- Responsibilities include but are not limited to submitting project deliverables, preparing status reports, and establishing effective project communication plans as well as the proper execution of said plans.
- Management of fermentation derived proteins and chemicals projects through all stages including FEL-1, 2 & 3, detailed design, construction, commissioning, start-up, and operational support.
- Responsible for the project success and client satisfaction. Responsible for project administration, budgeting, cost control, scheduling, quality, and staffing of projects.
- Responsible for running regular project meetings to provide communication with clients, project leaders, vendors, and design personnel.
- Responsible for ensuring that all project staff follow proper documentation procedures.
- Responsible for the quality and accuracy of all project documents. The project manager will be responsible for ensuring that project files are kept current and complete, and that project documentation procedures are maintained.
- Responsible for the creation of the project schedule and for meeting all target dates.
- Responsible for managing the project to the established budget.
- Assist with proposal development, marketing, and business development efforts.
- Provide training and mentoring of junior level engineers and designers.
- Responsible for reporting project status and performance metrics to company management on a regular basis.
- Responsible for liaison activities with Operations, Maintenance, Research, and Technology Development departments.
- Bachelor of Science in any Engineering field. Professional Engineer registration is preferred, but not required.
- 15+ years' experience in the management of industrial projects from conceptual design through construction and start-up. Experience in food processing, fermentation, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical plant development is preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout the US and Canada. Some international travel may also be required.
- Experience managing engineers, contractors, and vendors as part of an overall project team.
- Experience scheduling, estimating, and planning major capital projects.
- Experience with projects involving flammable gasses and hazardous environments is preferred.
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
